Ultrasonic thickness measurement – UTM

Principle:

Ultrasound is performed using a classical echo pulse method. The ultrasonic waves introduced into the object travel a distance from the transmitter beam of the probe, located on one side of the object to the opposite wall, reflected and returned to the probe.

Field of application:

The method is extremely effective for controlling objects and facilities that have only one-sided access such as pressure vessels, ship repair, pipelines and others. Through this method it is possible to carry out a thorough monitoring of the actual state of the site.
